New Welcome Draft Introduced
With the launch of TOTY at the Thursday UTC reset, EA Sports FC Mobile has rolled out one of the biggest system changes of the season. Alongside the Team of the Year content going live, a new Draft system has been introduced, officially replacing the older shard-based progression format.
This new system includes multiple draft modes, such as the TOTY Draft and the Welcome Draft. Here’s a clean breakdown of how the Welcome Draft works, what rewards it offers, and whether it’s worth your resources.
What Is the Welcome Draft?

The Welcome Draft is a newly added draft mode that appears directly on the Home Screen. Tapping the Welcome Draft tab takes you into a dedicated section where exclusive draft-only cards can be obtained.
Unlike traditional events, this draft focuses on a probability-and-guarantee system rather than grinding matches or collecting shards. The idea is simple: open drafts, track your progress, and eventually unlock guaranteed high-tier rewards.
OVR Cap and Card Power
The highest possible card available in the Welcome Draft is 115 OVR, featuring Prime Icon versions. This is slightly below the current global cap, as TOTY has pushed the in-game maximum to 117 OVR with new Icons and event cards.
Even so, 115 OVR Prime Icons remain elite-tier players and are strong enough to fit into most endgame squads.
How the Draft Probability System Works
The Welcome Draft uses a three-pool structure, with fixed probabilities and guaranteed rewards after a certain number of attempts.
Pool A represents the top-tier rewards. It has a base pull rate of 1 percent, but with the built-in guarantee system, the overall chance rises to 2.53 percent. A Pool A card is guaranteed after a maximum of 50 drafts.
Pool B sits in the middle tier. It has a base probability of 9 percent, with an overall chance of 13.66 percent, and guarantees a reward within 10 drafts.
If both Pool A and Pool B guarantees trigger on the same draft, the system always prioritizes Pool A. Once you receive a Pool A or Pool B player, the guarantee counter for that pool resets to zero. There is also a hard cap of 50 total drafts for this Welcome Draft.
Player Pools Explained

Pool A contains only 115 OVR Prime Icons. The available players are Baggio, Klose, Lampard, and Carles Puyol. Each of these cards carries an equal probability, meaning every Prime Icon in this pool has a 0.25 percent individual chance.

Pool B includes mixed-version cards rated between 106 and 109 OVR. The total probability for this pool is 9 percent, with each card having the same drop rate.
Pool C makes up the bulk of the draft results. It contains mixed-version cards rated 102 to 105 OVR and carries a massive 90 percent probability. This pool is designed to provide frequent pulls while you work toward the higher-tier guarantees.
Draft Currency and Cost

The Welcome Draft uses a special currency called the Kick Off Draft Voucher. One voucher can be obtained for 1,500 Gems or 100 FC Points.
You can open drafts one at a time or choose a 10x option if you have enough vouchers. Each day, players are allowed to open up to 50 draft packs, which directly aligns with the guaranteed Pool A system.
Guaranteed Rewards and Real Cost
A Pool B card is guaranteed within 10 drafts, while a Pool A Prime Icon is guaranteed within 50 drafts.
If you reach the 49th draft without pulling a Pool A card, the 50th draft will always award one. Reaching this guarantee costs roughly 75,000 Gems or 5,000 FC Points.
Because of this, the Welcome Draft has received mixed reactions from the community. Some players appreciate the clarity and guaranteed path, while others feel the cost is high compared to grinding TOTY content through traditional event chapters.
Final Thoughts
The Welcome Draft represents a major shift in how FC Mobile handles progression and rewards. It removes extreme randomness by introducing guaranteed outcomes, but that certainty comes at a significant resource cost.
For players targeting specific Prime Icons, the system offers a clear and predictable path. For others, especially free-to-play users, careful planning is essential before committing large amounts of Gems or FC Points.
As the first step into FC Mobile’s new draft-focused future, the Welcome Draft sets the tone for what’s to come-structured, transparent, but demanding when it comes to resources.
