How TOTY Draft Works in FC Mobile
The massive TOTY (Team of the Year) event is now live in FC Mobile, starting from January 15, and it’s set to run for a full 42 days. This year’s TOTY is quite different from previous editions, mainly because EA has removed the shard system and introduced an entirely new Draft-based progression system alongside Phase 2 Tokens.
At launch, only TOTY Attackers are available. Over the next few weeks, midfielders, defenders, and eventually UTOTY cards will be added, with the Draft pools updating accordingly.
Phase 2 Tokens Explained
Phase 2 Tokens are the core currency used for upgrading your TOTY progress. These tokens are earned by exchanging TOTY players you no longer need. Lower OVR cards from 113 to 115 reward a small amount of tokens, while higher-end cards provide much more value. Exchanging a 116 OVR card gives 50 Phase 2 Tokens, and a 117 OVR card rewards a massive 150 tokens, making high OVR pulls extremely valuable even if they don’t fit your squad.
These Phase 2 Tokens can then be used in the Exchange tab to directly claim TOTY packs. The higher the pack OVR, the more tokens required. This creates a clear recycling system where every TOTY card, even duplicates, contributes toward something meaningful.
The TOTY Draft System
The Draft system is the most important feature of this event and where most players will spend their time. For Week 1, the TOTY Attackers Draft is active, and each future week will rotate in new positions and updated player pools.
The Draft is divided into three tiers. Pool C contains lower-rated cards ranging from 108 to 112 OVR, which are the most common outcomes. Pool B includes stronger 113 to 115 OVR cards, and EA has added a safety net here – if you don’t pull a Pool B or higher card within 10 drafts, the next one is guaranteed.
At the top is Pool A, which holds the premium 116–117 OVR TOTY cards. These are the hardest to obtain, but there is a long-term guarantee system in place. After spending 100 Draft Vouchers, a Pool A card is guaranteed, although lucky players can still pull one earlier.
Drafts require Draft Vouchers, which can be obtained from event progression, objectives, and store packs. The guarantee counters do not reset unless the guaranteed tier is pulled, making consistent grinding extremely important.
Why This TOTY System Is Different
Compared to older TOTY events, this structure feels more rewarding and less punishing. Even unlucky pulls still move you closer to guaranteed rewards, and unwanted cards can always be converted into Phase 2 Tokens. The Draft system also adds long-term motivation, especially for free-to-play players aiming for top-tier TOTY or UTOTY cards.
